Garage door paint
Jason came home to me painting the garage door. I just painted it the trim color. The verdict is still out. Jason wants it repainted but I'm thinking of just using the creme house color for the whole thing. What do you think?
AHG
Hannah's American Heritage Girls' troop just finished it's Hiking badge with a beautiful hike at Ijams Nature Center in South Knoxville. Hannah and I enjoyed some much needed Mother and Daughter time complete with unplanned matching outfits. Gotta love it!
Cub Scout Family Camp
The family got to spend a beautiful fall weekend in Rockwood, TN at Camp Buck Toms. The kids got to climb a climbing wall, eat s'mores, hike, sleep in a tent and enjoy the outdoors. Here's our view from the tent. Gorgeous!
Superheroes
Hannah, Caleb and Georgia played "Superheroes" complete with capes. I love how they posed just perfectly for the camera without even knowing. I also love how sweet Georgia has become with them. She let them put this cape on her and play with her for a long time. She was the Green Lantern.
Sweet 16
Jason and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary with dinner at The Melting Pot. I'm thankful for my sweet husband who still loves me after all these years. Here's praying for many more.

Boy Scout Popcorn time
I got the garage all cleaned up from my latest woodworking project just in time too. For the next day, I came home with a filled van of Boy Scout popcorn. This what we hope to sell at 3 show and sells this fall. We have some good locations at a Kroger, Food City and Gander Mountain this year. Here's hoping to a great fundraiser!

Cutie pie Caleb
Caleb's been going through a phrase where he won't give me his genuine smile. He smiles through gritted teeth. It's aweful. I was filming him and noticed at the end that he gave me his real, sweet smile. I took a screenshot picture of it because it was so good. He looks great in baby blue, doesn't he?
Hannah's Closet remodel
Our Labor Day weekend projects included remodeling the kids' closets. Hannah's was first. I honestly don't know why I didn't do this 9 years ago when we moved in. We LOVE it! Hannah even begged for me to not put the closet doors back on because it looks so good.
School treats
Part of Caleb's language arts work includes prizes for every level that he completes in his workbook. He has a cute treasure box filled with prizes that I buy normally from the Dollar Tree store. One prize that all the kids wanted was a package filled with candy necklaces. Caleb and Hannah said they had never had one before. What?!
They really enjoyed them and got me thinking that we should make homemade cereal or snacks for our next movie night.

Madeline's gone
Hannah's growing up too fast. She recently asked me to paint over her Madeline and Genevieve painting on her wall. She had outgrown it. I was a little sad but complied with her wishes. I had to take this picture with Hannah and the mural just before I repainted. She does look too old now. Sniff. Sniff.
Caleb's first sentence
Caleb's zipping along in school. After he had learned how to write the alphabet, he wrote me this note on our dry erase boards. I was quite impressed!
American Heritage Girls
Hannah's little scout troop, American Heritage Girls started back in August with an explosion of girls. We grew so fast that we had to close the troop and put girls on a waiting list.
This is our 3rd year, Hannah's last year as a Tenderheart. She will move up to the Explorers' group in May. I'm helping lead the troop as Co-Coordinator this year which keeps me busy. It is a joy and privilege though to help lead girls to a closer relationship with the Lord. That's what AHG is all about! We love it!

Life-size rulers
After my Sentinel article was published on my life-size ruler, I was fortunate enough to have friends who wanted ones too. I sold seven of these sweet rulers. I'm so proud!

One dirty dog
Georgia got caught outside in a pop up shower while we were gone to the mountains. She tried and tried to dig her way out from under the gate, poor girl. This is what she looked like when we returned home. This is the dirtiest that we've ever seen her.
Cade's Cove trip
Jason and the kids love to drive around the Cade's Cove Loop in the Smokies and then play in the creeks. This year our friend, Cora got to tag along. She plays at our house every Monday during the summer while her mom works. The water was cold this year so the kids only waded in.
Ethan's new freckles
Ethan's getting more and more freckles this summer. He has 2 new ones that popped up on his arm perfect for drawing a smile underneath and making a face. He thought that his grandmother was a hoot for marking on his arm before swimming one day.
