3 days until Thanksgiving! We are so looking forward to seeing you all again and celebrating Ethan's birthday together. I've always loved this holiday. As a child I remember mom baking pies in the kitchen while Jason and I would watch the Thanksgiving Day parades. I don't remember where Rob was, only when he came in to bug or tease us. Then going to Mema and Nakie's house to spend it with the family. Mema's sweet potatoes were the highlight for me but my serving had to have some with the melted marshmallows on top. I remember the adults eating off the fine china (that is now in my possession) in the dining room while the kids ate in the kitchen. Then playing with the cousins, watching football, and eating leftover turkey sandwiches on white bread with mayo for dinner. Going home when it was dark and wishing that we'd been able to take home more turkey and sweet potatoes. Oh, those were the days. But on Thursday, I get to make Mema's sweet potatoes for her while my children run around their Grandmother and GrandBobby's home. What new memories we are making now for the next generation. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
