A Day of Firsts

A day of firsts included...
First Snowman
First time eating snow
First "true" snowball fight with Daddy
First time to drink hot chocolate

With more snow that came on Saturday, my boys were finally able to build their first snowman, not full size because we live in Knoxville but just a small baby one. They were so excited! Andrew's waited almost 5 years for this day. Our snowman was built complete with stick arms, buttons for eyes, and a carrot for his nose. Check out the boys faces in this picture. See how red and chapped they are? Ethan even insisted that he take a warm bath after they finished playing but Andrew only wanted to try hot chocolate for the first time. Sounds crazy that they've never tried hot chocolate? They are lovers of cold drinks and cold or lukewarm foods. So a big glass of chocolate milk has pleased them for years.

It's been so cold here that Andrew begged me to buy him some warmer sheets. He'd been waking up cold at night. So we headed off to Target to see what was clearanced, because all the winter merchandise is almost gone. I wasn't holding my breath that we'd find anything. They even have swimsuits on the racks now. But we found some red flannel sheets that were only $9.99 for the fitted, flat and one pillowcase. Problem solved. Andrew's sleeping through the night again and loves his new red sheets. He even asked me if I could but him even warmer sheets for when the temperature gets even colder.
