Fort Kid

The Hills have a new favorite place to play hide and seek. It's at Fort Kid in Knoxville. It's an enclosed playground built out of wood to look like a HUGE fort. Boys especially love it. It's great for little imaginations. Due to abnormally warm weather (again) we were able to go to the park Wednesday afternoon without coats and play for hours. This East Tennessee weather is so strange. Over the weekend we had inches of snow, the school kids were out on Monday because of it, but come Wednesday it's all melted away and we have a high of 63. So we went to the park again. A new one for us. We normally head out west but this time headed to downtown for a true pirate adventure. Fort Kid! Here are pictures of our afternoon. Jason won the award for best hider. He climbed up top in the roof of a fort to hide from the boys. Check out the picture. He sure did make the boys scream when they looked up and saw him hanging like a spider above them. Another great picture and memory!

How's the condition of Ft. Kid? Have the city kept it up?? That was always a concern to me since it's made of wood.

To me, the condition seemed good. It was clean with lots of families coming in and out. The birds are so friendly that they almost would eat out of your hand if you stood still enough. Although Andrew did get a little splinter that came right out with him picking at it. With my boys though, I've learned that a day at the park without a boo-boo is not possible.
