Despite the cold and rainy first day of spring, Andrew did have a good time on his birthday. Our family's birthday tradition is to let the birthday child choose all the meals, games and activities for the day. Breakfast consisted of Krispy Kreme chocolate glazed donuts, lunch at Burger King, and a DiGiorno's frozen pizza for dinner. Jason and I feel like we need to detox after that menu. Games and activities included chutes and ladders, a card game called war and wrestling with Ethan and Daddy. At McKay's Used Book Store, Andrew got to choose a new book, CD-Rom or movie. He picked a Jimmy Neutron cartoon (his new favorite). Then we took him to HobbyTown USA where he choose a new model airplane to make with Daddy. Here's Andrew with his new airplane, a level 2 with 150 plus pieces that will take Jason at least a week to complete. We wish him well! I'm just glad that's a Daddy and son activitiy. I wouldn't do well at that at all. Now the countdown continues because his party is Saturday morning. Check the blog again over the weekend for pictures of the party.

What did you and Jason(your brother) do on your birthdays?? Did you get to choose the menu and activities for two separate days? I'd love to start this tradition, but with two kids who have the same birthday it might be a challenge unless they chose the same things.
This is a tradition that I started with my kids. I do remember having two cakes at birthday parties though but we would have to compromise on the dinner menu/restaurant. My mom did let us choose our favorite breakfast foods, mostly something easy like cinnamon toast, cinnamon rolls or a favorite cereal.
