Living in the city does not always mean that wildlife is not rampant in your own backyard. At our old apartment we heard a deer "blow", saw a coyote, had a family of groundhogs living nearby, saw lots of rabbits and watched 5 racoons eating out of our bird feeder one night. Our house has a different variety of wildlife. Our two favorites are the chipmunk family living under our front porch and the rabbit family in the backyard. Lately we've been feeding the rabbit family. It's like having our own Oscar the Grouch in the backyard. They'll eat most anything, especially carrots. We just lay the food beside their hole and by nighttime it's gone. Voila! Instant trash compactor. Here's their lunch served with love from Andrew. He just loves being able to feed his own wild rabbits. Now if only he was fast enough to catch them.

We are "enjoying" the family of flies living in our kitchen. In Arkansas and Mississippi, we had mosquitos. In Tennessee, we had ladybugs. In Alabama, apparently flies are the problem! I'd take wild rabbits anyday. Miss you, girl!
