Mayfield Free Ice Cream Day

This morning we headed downtown to Market Square for the annual Mayfield Free Ice Cream Day. To all my Memphis family: Mayfield is a local dairy company that makes milk and ice cream that's delish! We ran in to friends from church, the McNeils and the Bohannons. What I didn't know was that Market Square has fountains to play in. I did not come prepared. But I let the boys run through in their clothes anyway. In Andrew's words "I had a great time." But in the clothes words: "No! We didn't!" There was soooo much chlorine in the water that you could smell it 10 feet away and it permanently changed the colors of the boys clothes even down to their underwear. The boys were thrown directly in the bath to wash all those chemicals off as soon as we walked in the door. That's the last "fountain" trip we make. But we'll always go back for more ice cream.

Shelley, that happened to Ashlyn's clothes when we went to the splash pad off Northshore, it even burned their eyes - but we've been since then and it has been ok. I don't know why those type things use "That" much chlorine. I wish I'd known about the free ice cream - sounds like fun! :)

I was thrilled when we went to the grocery store for the first time here in Montgomery and saw Mayfield Ice Cream in the freezer section! I always go and get us "Moose Tracks" on special occasions and we mourn not being there in Knox while we eat it.
