Picture it.... last night after all the kids were tucked in bed, lights off across the house, Jason's in bed and I'm on my way.... I hear Andrew's sweet voice singing Psalm 118:1 which says "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!" He sang it over and over again getting fainter and fainter each time until he fell asleep.
How sweet it is to hear a child's voice singing praises to God. Every day in school we have "Bible Time" for the kids. Currently we are reading through the kids' Children's Bible from Genesis to Revelation. We pray, sing worship songs with a CD, and memorize scripture. I have been using Susan Hunt's My ABC Bible Verses book. For every letter of the Bible, she puts a scripture verse starting with that letter and a story with it. The kids love it! Psalm 118:1 was our verse for letter O day. I remembered this worship song from years ago that we sang at Cornerstone that revolved around this verse. So one day I started teaching it to the boys. They kindly listened but I didn't think they'd remember it. I didn't realize how quickly Andrew would memorize the verse just by pairing it with music. Wow! I'll start writing my own songs if he'll memorize scripture faster! I highly recommend that book if you have little ones at home.
