Thanks to Cindy and Jane for coming up to watch the kids while Jason and I got a much needed break away. Jason and I camped out Friday night at Elmont (in the low 30s, brrrrrr) in our new sleeping bags and on our new queen air mattress. I was actually warm, all except my head. Sleep? Well, maybe next time. We're going camping with all the families and singles in our care group in a few weeks at Frozen Head State Park. Hopefully, I'm starting to get used to camping. I didn't grow up camping. This was actually my 4th time ever sleeping outside. I'm still not used to it but Jason's the pro. He grew up camping and I believe he could sleep anywhere.
Highlights?
Our camping neighbors actually put up a fake ficus tree outside their tent. You can make your own assumptions, but we definately giggled. We were waiting for the Christmas lights to go on it, but it never did.
Also, I melted the bottoms of my favorite brown shoes by the fire almost to my socks. I foolishly rested my shoes on the metal edge of the fire pit for a few minutes and when I tried to pull it off it was stuck on what I thought was gum but turned out to be my melted sole!

If you head was cold this weekend, I'm not sure that "Frozen Head" State Park is for you!
I know how you feel, Shelley! I married an outdoor person, too! I'm glad you had fun, though! It's always fun to spend time with our hubbies.
