Google and Names

So have you ever typed in your name on google, just to see what would pop up? It's eye opening. Well, a neat one to look at is my dad's. He's famous, did you know? More than I really know about. His name is Bobby Manuel. Try it, you'll find 1,500,000 sites for his name complete with pictures of all the albums he's played guitar on, engineered, produced, or mixed. And yes, they probably are all for him. Our other famous family member is Jason's mom, Cindy Hill, the professional bass fisherwoman.

Me? I'm not famous, nor desire to be. I'll just let the other Shelley Hill's get that worldly glory. My desire is for heavenly things. I thought you'd enjoy reading what some of the other Shelley Hill's do.

There's one:

1. Shelley Hill, a Colorado district court judge.
2. Shelley Hill Pools serving New York and Connecticut.
3. Shelley Hill, the famous filmmaker.
4. Shelley Hill, the famous American artist.
5. Shelley Hill, the clinical research coordinator at Stanford.
6. Shelley Hill, PACE's marketing executive.
7. Shelley Hill, the HR Mgr. at ABC Virtual.

All I keep thinking about is how little I am and how lost I can be in the mix of all the people in the world today and throughout history who share my name. And how wonderful it is that we have a God who knows us by name. As Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you." THANK YOU LORD! Isn't it great that we serve a God who knows our every deed and thought. And especially how great that He sent his only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for this Shelley Hill!!!!!!!!

This is really fun to do! There is actually an actress named Katie Mitchell who has been on CSI. Here is what our descriptions would say if Google could peek into our souls: chef, launderer, secretary, interior designer, nurse, housekeeper, taylor, teacher, driver, accountant, wife, mother, friend, mentor, Bible scholar, writer, and above all...sinner who has been shown an abundance of mercy!

Love the post!

Shelley,
Thanks so much for the helpful advice on brushing on Suzanne's blog. I really didn't know I should be doing all of that. Addy is almost to and my only goal has been to brush her teeth before she goes to bed. I'm definitely going to start doing it after every meal! Why did you have to go to the hospital? Tooth aches?

Michelle, I wish they were only tooth aches!! Unfortunately, my boys inherited their mother's weak teeth. Combine that with a lack of aggressively brushing and flossing and they had cavities at 2 years old. Andrew and Ethan both had multiple cavities. Andrew had 6 root canals and crowns and sealants put on. Ethan had 4 cavities, 2 root canals, crowns and sealants put on too. It broke our hearts to put them under anesthesia at Children's Hospital because we hadn't been faithful to brush and floss our toddler's teeth. Learn from our mistake and brush and floss daily and agressively!

Hey Shelley... I can't find your number or I would call you. I'll try to find it a little bit later and call you as well. If it snows even a little bit it covers our streets and we live out in the country and they don't plow. Me saying all of this, If it does snow I won't be able to get out and come to church. Should I call and get somebody just in case? Any thoughts?
