Andrew's Sleepover Party

Friday night, Andrew had his 4 closest buddies come over for a sleepover to celebrate his 6th birthday. The plan was to go camping outside, but when you have a son's birthday on the first day of spring, March 20, it's bound to still be cold. So we pitched the tent in the playroom for the party. The boys had a blast. They ate pizza, then cake and ice cream, opened presents, then watched the new Peter Pan movie on a portable DVD player set up outside the tent. We turned all the lights off, put them in their pj's and sleeing bags and enjoyed a good movie. They were a blast to have over. Andrew had so much fun with his buddies, especially since he only sees them on Sundays now since they all started kindergarten. A special memory for me was seeing Andrew read his own birthday cards for the first time, then initiating hugs from his friends after opening their gifts. It was very kind. Also, that he liked his homemade birthday cake from his mom that was decorated to look like a present.

Shelley, I couldn't load your blog for a while, but I've found you again! I can not believe how big these boys are -- not to mention Hannah!! She's a big girl now. Glad to find you again.
