Today, Caleb turned 1 week old. We had our first pediatrician's appointment this afternoon and to my amazement, Dr. Glover said that his weight gain was so significant that we didn't have to go back for a two week checkup but could wait until he turns 1 month old. This boy is huge! I'm nicknaming him Crocodile Caleb because of the way he nurses. After feeding him for 30 minutes or so, the boy literally chews his fist and fingers and cries until we give him a bottle. Then, he'll suck down 4 oz. All he does is eat and eat and eat. Oh, and poop and sleep a little too. But mostly he wants to eat. The pediatrician says he looks like a 1 month old. He holds his head up and moves it around and just looks like a BIG healthy baby boy.
We are all adjusting to life with a baby. I'm having to retrain my mind when doing head counts on where the kids are in the house. Today was my first outing with all 4 to the doctor's office by myself. That was a little challenging but I know that there will have to be a transition period. Hopefully, each time out will get easier and easier. Andrew's been my right hand man, my best helper. Now if I can just get Ethan and Hannah on board, then we can start getting out of the house again. I've got a big case of cabin fever!
