The Battle!

On Saturday, we celebrated Andrew's 7th birthday with a "friends" party. It was a military themed party. The boys all came in their camos. We dressed them in army helmets, painted their faces with camo colored paints, gave them dog tags and sent them out to battle. Half the boys were on the Allies side and the other half were the Axis. Jason worked for hours on their forts. He painted them in camo colors complete with an Allies star and an Axis cross. They looked great!

The rules were that there were no rules. The boys each had a huge assortments of grenades aka water balloons. The battle came complete with a home made smoke bomb made by Jason. No explosion, just smoke. You just take stump remover and sugar then melt it together to make a smoke bomb, easy peasey as Andrew says. So the battle started with the smoke bomb going off, literally above the roof and filling the driveway. Then they battled it out. Some boys got drenched and some came away unscathed. But the goal was met: to have a blast that they'll remember for years. I tell you what, we do enjoy throwing a good old boy party around here. As my friend Lesli says, I'm going to run out of birthday party ideas soon with all the kids I have. NEVER! I have plenty of ideas left for the other kids and I haven't even tapped in to the princess party ideas.

Here's how you know you threw a good party..... This morning at church I passed one of the boys, Christian and do you know what he was wearing? His dog tag!
