This past weekend we said goodbye to our old 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager van and hello to the 21st century with a 2006 Toyota Sienna. GOD has been most faithful and very generous to us! We cannot stop singing His praises! It has been an answer to prayer, many months of praying specifically for a newer van. We received the old Plymouth 5 years ago from my Uncle Bennie. He gave us an incredible deal for it. I essentially traded out my 8 year old Mazda Protege for the van. We were expecting Ethan and knew that we were needing a van to take on all those long trips to Germantown. It had 101,000 miles on it when we got. It worked well for us for many years but it was slowly dying a harsh death. It's now got 160,000 miles on it and in need of some repairs. Then God intervened! Jason and I were so blessed to receive money from the family to help us out in our time of need. Through that help and a friend of Jason's who works at one of the dealerships that he services, we were able to buy a much newer van than we ever expected! It's so good to have friends and family who love and care for you. Jason's friend gave us an incredible deal, better than we deserve and we realize that it was all God's mercy and blessings at work in our lives.
So goodbye old "Casper" and hello "Mint chocolate chip." Why mint chocolate chip? The Sienna's color is called Silver Pine. It's a pale green, almost mint color. Yes, I hated the color at first, but it's growing on me. And yes you can make fun of the color all you want! We don't care, because it was an answered prayer. We are just thankful for a van that won't leave me blocking the bank's teller lane on a Friday afternoon in 97 degree weather with 4 children in tow. Now that was a trial that I do not want to repeat!
