It's been 11 years since Jason and I said, "I do!" This week, we've been reminiscing about that time and those days. We've lived such full lives since that day. God has been so gracious! My memories are starting fade of all the details that went in to planning that day, enjoying and celebrating on that day so long ago, September 27, 1997.
But we will never forget God's faithfulness to us. We will never forget how you (the fam) traveled hours to come be with us up here in Knoxville, even flying in from Dallas. I included this picture of us beside the groom's cake for a reason. It reminded me of all the sacrifices that our family made to make that day special. It was such a gift of love that my Dad refinished this groom's table, spent hours with his sister Beverly to make the sweet little candle holders, decorate the table with greenery and make the church's sanctuary absolutely gorgeous! I do remember being shocked when seeing my Dad arrive from Memphis in a rental van carrying tons of fresh flowers, candelabras, table decorations, etc for my wedding. We could barely get it all in my fridge even after clearing out all the food and shelves. We could never thank our good friends the Reynolds ENOUGH for coordinating all the food at the reception. Also to Bebe and Harry for furnishing our first apartment. We are still enjoying the gray couch. Such precious family and friends that we have.
Happy Anniversary Jason! I love you sweetie.
