Picking Pumpkins

We've been too busy this year with house stuff and soccer games, so we settled on a new place to get our pumpkins this year. It was just a little nursery called Horn of Plenty. I hear they serve great lunches and dinners but we just haven't made it over there yet.

There was no tromping in the mud through the field of pumpkins this year. No kids or grown-ups tripping over the vines to pick our favorites. No super yummy slushes or looking for the little bitty Silkies. BTW, Silkies are a type of chicken that are super small but very cute. Yea, I actually said a chicken is cute. No worries, my 4 hens in the back yard haven't won me over completely yet. Only if they start pooping in the grass and not on my deck will I like them.

This year, we pulled right up to the nursery and stepped out on the parking lot to rows of already picked pumpkins. We definately missed our tried and true Fruit and Berry Path in Halls this year but this was sweet too. Quick and easy, just like I like my outings with Mustang Boy.
