American Heritage Girl

Hannah joined American Heritage Girls this year. They are the Christian version of Girl Scouts these days. American Heritage Girls (AHG) is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. Like the Boys Scouts of America, AHG offers merit badges, service projects, leadership opportunities, and outdoor activities.

Hannah's most excited about BEING IN the Knoxville Veteran's Day Parade and not watching it. Her troop rides a float in the parade. She's going to freak I tell you.

AHG meets twice a month at the Knoxville Christian School. They are teaching the girls' songs, their oath, motto, and other things this month. She will get her uniform in a few weeks and will start earning her badges for her vest then.

This past week, the meeting concluded with a 16th birthday party for AHG complete with juice boxes and cupcakes for the girls. Here's my sweet girl enjoying her treat.
