Christmas pictures

One of our new Christmas morning traditions is to let the kids choose the breakfast menu. Being 4 and 3, of course the boys would choose junk for breakfast but we're making memories and tastes will change as they grow older. This year they requested their Daddy's yummy chocolate chip pancakes. Nothing like starting the morning off fresh with chocolate and maple syrup. Sounds gross. What would I have chosen? Oh, Cinnabons from the mall sounded good (just as bad, but tons more fat grams). Then I wouldn't have to be in the kitchen all day. But Jason made breakfast while I enjoyed some one on one time with Hannah while watching the boys play with their new toys. So we had bacon and pancakes that morning and didn't get hungry again until after 2 pm. But I did get a traditional Manuel Christmas food item for lunch. I made homemade ham and cheese quiche for Jason and me to enjoy. Then got more the next day in Germantown and even more a week later, today. I do love my mom's quiche.

Thanks to those that gave me ideas for Hannah's Christmas present. She received a soft cuddly baby doll made especially for infants. Andrew and Ethan received their first set of toy guns. Do I hear a chuckle? Can you believe the Hill boys have not owned their own toy guns until now? I know, even with all the hunters in the family, (GrandDaddy, GrandBobby, Uncle Jason, Uncle Rob, and Uncle Michael) they did not own any. It was actually my idea to get them one because of Ethan's latest game with my fingers. While watching tv one night he took my index finger and pretended it was a gun shooting his gun (his index finger). Then he would pretend with his hand to blow up. My response? Jason, get them some toy guns, please! So he got these great big ones with loud sounds, perfect for driving adults to breaking points. We saw it happen at Grandmother's house when 8 kids under 12 were running around the house playing war. Here is a picture of the grandsons pretending to look fierce while wearing GrandBobby's hunting camo.

Here's a sweet picture of the grandaughters Sarah Neely and Hannah Claire in their matching dresses (which was unplanned).

Here's a very tired Ethan who fell asleep at dinner time after playing with his cousins. He tries to keep up with the older ones but some days just can't.

Here is Jake's first sleepover with Andrew and Ethan. It's a much sweeter picture than the hunting one, isn't it.

Here is Ethan's Smyrna buddy, Austin. The two three year olds were inseparable all weekend.

Great memories and fun new traditions were made this year. Looking forward to next.
