Dinosaur Walk Museum

As most of our family is aware, there is a city near the Smoky Mountains called Pigeon Forge. Mostly we try to avoid it at all costs because of the huge traffic congestions there due to all the outlets malls and attractions. But on our way to Gatlinburg's Aquarium last spring, Andrew noticed something NEW. It was a museum called the Dinosaur Walk Museum. He has been longing to go for many months now. So in conclusion of our study of dinosaurs this week, we took another "field trip" but with Daddy in tow on Saturday. Our Family Day on Saturday included a great breakfast at Cracker Barrell then a trip to see the dinosaurs. We were relatively pleased. It was a small museum but heavily packed with life size sculptures. The kids loved it! Andrew more than the others of course because dinosaurs are his obsession and as he will tell you, " I want to be a paleontologist one day."

Ethan? To my surprise he was a little scared. The museum had one dinosaur that had a loud call scheduled to go off every few minutes that scared him. Actually he was scared even before entering because of the metal dinosaur located by the sign. He was so scared that he wouldn't even stand in front with Andrew to get his picture taken. And that boy loves to get his picture taken.

Hannah? She loved it! Especially when Jason pretended to be petting the HUGE Styracasaurus (looks like a Triceratops) on the nose like a kitten and making sweet kissing noises. The boys just laughed.

The museum had a kids place to actually dig for dinosaur fossils in the sand and a movie to watch after the tour. Of course it was finalized with the tour exiting in to the gift shop. Overall we give it a thumbs up! Well worth the trip if you have a dinosaur lover.
