Suggestions Needed

Here's my cry out for help! Jason and I have been trying to plan our 10th wedding anniversary trip all summer. We had originally planned to go tour Maine's coastal towns but after learning that airline tickets would cost us roughly $1200, we scrapped the idea. I have a million other things I'd like to spend $1200 on and airline tickets are not one of them.

The details...
Jason's parents are coming up to watch the kids the second week of October for us. Aren't they the best grandparents?! We're so fortunate. The kids will have a blast with them. We've decided to make our anniversary trip a sort of "tour of the South." There's a ton of places that we haven't seen just in our backyard down here in the South. First on the agenda is a day or two in Asheville, NC. We've decided to go tour the Biltmore since Jason's never seen it, and stay in a bed and breakfast there. Any suggestions on a good BNB? Also, we can't decide where to go from there. We'll be driving and can head in any direction, Virginia, NC, SC, Georgia, etc.

So to all our family and friends, PLEASE send us some suggestions! We'd love to hear where you've gone, stayed, shopped, dined, etc. So load up our comment box!!! I can't wait to read the suggestions.

Shelley, the best place to stay in Asheville is Grovepark Inn. It will be so beautiful in October. They have large porches with rockers that have incredible views. We've only eaten there, but I wish we could've stayed... They have a great Sunday brunch buffet. You can also just eat there. This is a very special place to visit yearly...they have a famous ginger bread house contest during the holidays. They put the houses on display for people to see. I think Claire Henson use to work there...she'll have some good info.

Another great place to visit is Charleston, SC. Have you been there? A great place to go without kids. Atlanta is fun, too. I hope you have a wonderful week - what a blessing! Make lots of precious memories as you put God's goodness on display.

The Grove park inn is breathtaking, i agree. Clifton and I had sunset dinner there on our 3rd anniversary. We recently stayed at the Hill House (BNB)and liked it very much. They have great cookies. ( i was pregnant with #2 when we stayed ;) Hope this helps!
