Our Pumpkin Patch Trip

As most of you are aware, one of my favorite things to establish is to have "family traditions." Especially since we have NO family in town, it's even more pressing on me to start and continue yearly traditions. One of our fall traditions is go to a place outside North Knoxville called The Fruit and Berry Patch. There we pick pumpkins and gourds, see their farm animals, and rock on their rocking chairs while sipping their homemade berry slushees. I do believe Andrew wouldn't even consider drinking a blackberry slush purchased at a convenience store but he sure drinks it down out there.

Last night we headed over before dark to pick our family pumpkins. Every family member gets to pick their own to be placed on the front steps of the house. This year we purchased our first white pumpkin, at Hannah's choosing of course. That little girl has to be different in a house full of boys! As she was rocking on the chairs sipping her apple berry slush, she cries, "Gulicious!" Translation: delicious. And yes, they ARE!

So after a few trips and falls over the pumpkin vines, a trickle of raindrops over us, and a little girl who refused to smile for the camera, we'll call it another great family night and tradition continued.
