Snaggletooth

Lately for Andrew things seem to come or shall I say "go" in pairs. The weekend of his 6th birthday, he lost his first tooth one day, then the very next day he lost the other bottom one. So I shouldn't have been surprised when last weekend we experienced deja vu. He lost his first top tooth on Saturday. Thank God! They had really been hurting him and were so wiggly that even eating bread was a task. He would stuff food in to his mouth to eat only on the back molars. Can you picture those lovely meal time manners? But the funny part was that his front two teeth had shifted so much that they were overlapped on each other and pushed out like buck teeth. He looked like a beaver!!! So we are thankful they are gone and now we can laugh at our little snaggletooth boy.

You know when he lost the second top tooth? He pulled it out at church during worship. What a distraction our little family was on Sunday. We were searching for a tissue to wipe the blood off his fingers and mouth and find a safe place to put the tooth. It was a scene to behold.

What a joy to have a first grader with no front teeth! Ethan's not caring for it though. He says when Andrew talks he's been spitting in his face too much! Too funny. Andrew will just have to learn how to talk again without showering everyone and Ethan will need to learn to be gracious and patient. Good lessons!
