October was THE month Andrew had been looking forward to since school started in August. Because that was the month that we were to study everything that he wanted to know about World War II. Yes, my little first grader studied (in depth) World War II everyday. It was at his constant begging that I agreed to let him study it while he was interested in it, just another joy of homeschooling. We can study things at the pace that we want to even though other kids won't learn about this until 5th grade. We checked out tons of library books, read for hours online, watched lots of the History channel, played the Battleship game and completed two more model airplanes for his room. He now has a Corsair chasing down a Messerschmit that trying to shoot a B-25. What I love is his absolute love for this topic. He even gets me interested in it. I must say that he's much more knowledgeable about the battles than I am and now he's teaching me things. What a joy!
