Wednesday morning we awoke to see snow! Finally! The kids have been waiting all winter for this day. Living in the south isn't the best place to expect snow every year I know, but try telling that to my kids. They want it so bad. But we have been fortunate enough to see a day or two of snow each season, and mostly that's just a dusting. But this day, we actually got some accumulation.
So school was put on hold for the morning. The 3 musketeers headed out in the best snow attire that we own to play out in the cold. And cold it was! I had just purchased 4 round sleds at Target two weeks prior on clearance just for this day. They were a whopping $1.97 each. Now each child will have their own for years to come. Maybe one year they'll even get to use them down a hill. Andrew did his best attempt at sliding on the snow in the back yard. Ethan was more concerned at throwing snowballs every where and Hannah was content to just pick it up in her gloves.
The 3 lasted less than an hour before the cold temps made them all have runny noses and red faces and they were hungry for breakfast. Jason fixed us all a big southern breakfast complete with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and hot chocolate.
Andrew and I started school until we were interrupted with a fully bundled up Ethan, who was ready to go back outside. After Hannah bundled back up too, both Ethan and Hannah played a little more outside. Which made me have compassion on Andrew who kept longingly looking outside at his siblings playing in the snow while he was trying to finish his math lessons. So I sent him out too and called it quits for the school day. They all had a blast! The funniest part of the day was when Ethan and Hannah started throwing snowballs at the playroom door then licking it off. Here are some funny pictures of our day.
