Counting down to Andrew's 7th Bday

We've been busy planning Andrew's 7th birthday party. This year's theme is an Army party (of course). His original desire was for all his friends to come dressed in real army uniforms. He wanted half of the boys to come in some authentic Allied uniforms and the other half to come dressed in Axis uniforms. He also wants Jason to dig a real trench in the backyard so that they can reenact a World War II battle scene. I tell you what.... this boy's obsessed. His latest desire of profession is to be a World War II historian when he grows up and that is no surprise to us. Last weekend at our friend's wedding, he carried on an adult conversation with a man in his 60's about his favorite battles and things from World War II. This man was so impressed that he interrupted Andrew to grab his brother to come meet him and listen to him talk.

So the party is planned. We've purchased army helmets and camo paint for all the kids. We're even giving them fake dog tag collars as party favors. Jason is in charge of the activities. He's going to make some smoke bombs, build two forts in the backyard and let them have a war with water balloons. This will be quite a site to see. Want to join in the festivities? You're welcome! The party will be from 10-1 on Sat. the 29th. You're only allowed to come if you dress in your camos ready to battle in the backyard.
