Sorry for the delay in posts. Seems that I've been posting more on facebook than here. I'll try to do better. Since my last post, we've now completed 5 weeks of school. We started the kids co-op this month. We signed them all up for PE again and Andrew is going to take a few classes while his younger siblings are in PE. He's taking a nutrition class, sign language class and US Geography class as well as the regular PE class this year. Caleb is hanging out with me for a full 2 hours every Wednesday morning. We will be reading books, watching a movie in the car, hanging out on the bleachers in the gym or anything else to make him happy while he sits and waits for his siblings to be through.
School with 3 in different grades is definitely a challenge. Mostly the biggest challenge is the Wild Mustang. With the addition of a few new games and a cheap laptop for the kids, we are making it work. He's not quite as talkative when he's watching The Cat in the Hat show on the PBS website. Another trick up my sleeve to keep him quiet is to have him listen to my ipod. The boy loves music! My struggles have been that he is a quite the talker. All day and night he sings, screams, and talks. He's not learned to be quiet by a "shush" either. He just gets louder and louder!
So if you think of us, will you say a prayer for us? That our struggles will become easier and the blessings and thankfulness will increase? We'd greatly appreciate it.
Soccer started too. The big boys and Hannah are playing this year. Our first game was rained out last weekend. The kids were so sad, that some even cried about it. I'll post some pictures after this weekend's games.
So here's what we have planned for the fall.
Apple Picking field trip complete with a hay ride, apple cider, and feeding the farm animals.
Jason and I are trying to plan a weekend getaway to Asheville, NC in October to celebrate out 13th wedding anniversary.
Lots of trips to the library and zoo (we just joined the Knoxville Zoo).
Soccer games every weekend until the first weekend of November.
And lastly, the boys are singing in the church choir again. They will be performing Handel's Messiah in December. We're looking forward to that! But the down side is that practice is every Friday afternoon all fall to prepare for it.
Check back again this weekend. I'll post pictures of all the kids in their soccer uniforms from their first game.
