Over the last few months our little flock of hens has dwindles down to 1. Now that Georgia, the lap puppy has discovered that her body will fit in the coop allowing her to eat the freshly laid eggs, Jason said it was time to get more.
So yesterday, he bought 5 new hens to be exact. They are pretty birds but our poor puppy Georgia is going berserk over them. She's used to the old ones and some of the new ones aren't as camouflaged as the old ones are. Jason has 2 new grey and white striped ones that Georgia keeps corralling in the corner of the backyard like a sheep dog. She's driving me crazy. I feel like I just inherited 5 new kids that are under a constant death watch.
Georgia's not too interested in killing them out right. She just wants them to play tag and chase. But in the near future Georgia will be outfitted with a shock collar for training. That will put my kids' and my mind at ease. I can't wait! We do love Georgia, well, some of us, not all of us though. She's such a BIG puppy that loves to be petted and loves to jump that she scares the kids. So the collar is a necessity for now til she learns not to wrestle the kids and chickens. Here's hoping for change in our Georgia May.
