Today I noticed that one of the hens, Tom was sitting in the dog house. Now, Georgia never goes in there, but today I noticed not only was Tom in there but Georgia was too at the same time! Normally, Georgia picks on Tom and she runs quickly away when the dog approaches her. So why wasn't Tom running away today? She was laying an egg! Georgia was messing with her probably because she was trying to get Tom out to eat that fresh warm egg. She knew why Tom wasn't moving. She's no stupid dog. But what she didn't realize was the her master would soon foil her plan. I called Georgia inside to her kennel. Hahaha.
So when Georgia left, so did Tom and no egg was there. That surprised me. I was so sure that Tom was laying. Then Tom started cackling up a storm like she was mad. I quickly called Jason to see if he had found any eggs in the dog house. He said no and to just watch her. In the meantime while I was on the phone, guess what? Tom went back in the dog house and did lay that egg! Here's the proof.
Tom's the grandmother of the flock. Maybe she's getting tired of seeing Georgia's face and body climbing in her chicken coop getting eggs and she started to lay them directly for her in Georgia's dog house. What do you think?
