Molly our beloved cat (to all except Jason) has been going bezerk lately over my dried hydrangeas. I have them in a vase on top of my tv cabinet, china hutch, and my bedside table. She loves to walk by and knock them over, then play catch with them and sometimes eat them. I love the light green colors of them and have thoroughly enjoyed them but am now convinced it is time they go. I'm a little tired of the clean up. They shred to pieces and are a hassle to clean after Molly's play time is over.
I've been thinking of things to replace them with. Fake flowers were my next option but now I've found something better. I saw on the blog, WhipperBerry.com that they made a similar looking flower out of cardstock, a styrofoam ball, pearl tipped pens and a flower paper punch.
I'm hooked and ready to go. I love the sweet pink ones on a glass pedestal. No more messy clean ups and no Molly cat eating my hydrangeas anymore. I'll post pictures as soon as I finish them. Hannah and I will have a sweet afternoon punching the flowers out of the cardstock and making "kissing balls."
