Working Hard

Our next project around the house is to install a brick walkway from the backyard patio to the water faucet. Jason already made a brick square area below the faucet with bricks which looks great and got me thinking. How about adding a brick walkway from the patio to the faucet over Georgia's dirt trail? She runs from the patio to the side of the house to see out the fence for people and noises. Naturally, all the grass is gone in that area and we needed a solution.

Thankfully, we had a neighbor with leftover bricks from a project that we were able to pick up. Then, the hard work started. Loading all those bricks by hand onto Jason's truck and unload in the backyard. While Jason was at work, I loaded up the kids in his truck and headed down to do it ourselves. I prepped them ahead of time about the hard work coming up. Also, that complaining would not be tolerated. They did really well. I also noticed some work ethics that need to be addressed.

This phrase sums it up. "Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all " by Sam Ewing.
